Robert Rigby Architects was given the opportunity of involvement with Springwood Developments in the conversion of a former Police Station to a new usage while respecting its original aesthetic.
An extension and new build on the old Police Station site at Henley on Thames had previously been granted planning approval prior to our clients acquiring the site.
Robert Rigby Architects worked with Springwood Developments to improve the quota of accommodation and gain updated planning approval, finally realizing a mixed development of commercial and residential usage, including a Bistro Restaurant, 3 Private Apartments and two new 2-bedroom dwellings.
Working within the constraints of the original building, imaginative use of space was achieved, bringing more light into the heart of the building, while still respecting the external aesthetics of the developments historic setting in the centre of Henley.
